H.E. Ambassador Michael Imran Kanu Hosts UN ASG for Youth Affairs at Sierra Leone’s Permanent Mission

H.E. Ambassador Michael Imran Kanu, Permanent Representative of 🇸🇱 Sierra Leone to the United Nations, received UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs, Dr. Felipe Paullier, for a high-level engagement focused on youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and the implementation of the UN Youth Office Strategic Plan (2025–2028). The meeting included a cross-section of the Mission’s Youth, Peace & Security (YPS) team and reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s commitment to advancing the YPS Agenda at both national and international levels.

ASG Paullier commended Sierra Leone’s leadership on youth issues, particularly its role on the UN Security Council in championing the YPS Agenda. Both sides emphasized the importance of institutionalizing meaningful youth engagement across the UN system and deepening intergenerational cooperation for sustainable peace and development.
