Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 and the United Kingdom🇬🇧, in collaboration with WatchList, convened a roundtable discussion to commemorate the International Day Against the Recruitment and Use of Children, commonly known as “Red Hand Day.”
The purpose of this event was to draw attention to the recruitment and exploitation of children in armed conflicts, which constitutes one of the six grave violations recognised under the Children and Armed Conflict (CAAC) framework. The discussion aimed to explore avenues for enhancing the efforts of the #UN Security Council and the broader international community to support countries in preventing and responding to this pervasive issue.
