Signing Ceremony for the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Commonwealth of Dominica

A signing ceremony was held on March 24, 2025, to mark the formal establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Commonwealth of Dominica.

H.E. Dr. Michael Imran Kanu, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the United Nations, and H.E. Dr. Philbert Aaron, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the United Nations, signed a Joint Communiqué on behalf of their respective Governments.

The ceremony served as a significant step in strengthening the historic bonds between the two countries and advancing the shared vision of deeper collaboration between Africa and the Caribbean. Both representatives highlighted the importance of South-South Cooperation and other multilateral mechanisms at the United Nations as key platforms for partnership. They expressed their commitment to enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation, particularly at the United Nations.
